If a mite has come into your home, you really need someone to treat it - a pest management professional. I think that spraying windex (window cleaner) on your skin is not a good idea and will cause drying or worse (in time). I would recommend people instead have someone eliminate this problem. Have you involved any pest professionals or entomologists in helping you rid this infestation? Is it gone now, or ongoing? All the best. Elizabeth,

They might be the above mentioned rat or fowl mites. Mine came after cleaning out a chicken house and kept me evil company for over 8 years. I did not know what they were. I have found out Windex gets rid of them. Kleengreen does NOT. I spray it right on me, but not my eyes. It burns in the eyes but tears wash it a way in a few minutes. They die very quickly. Nothing else has brought me relief except sulfur and that can't be sprayed on one's self. Lice shampoo helped but not enough and it was too expensive to spray the entire house. I hope this helps someone else. Please spread the word!
